Intro to Beekeeping in Charlotte, NC — Now With Beeswax Candle Making! 🐝🕯️
There’s something new buzzing into our Intro to Beekeeping class with SkillPop in Charlotte, NC!
Led by Queen’s Orders Honey, a local Charlotte beekeeping business, this beginner-friendly class gives you an introduction to the world of honeybees and what it actually takes to become a beekeeper. And now, participants will get some hands-on experience with another amazing product of the hive: beeswax!
Now Featuring Beeswax Candle Making
As part of the class, each participant will have the opportunity to make their own small molded beeswax candle using beeswax from our own North Carolina honeybee hives—and, of course, take it home with them!
Beeswax is one of the many fascinating resources produced by a honeybee colony. Candle making gives us a chance to explore how beekeepers use products from the hive beyond simply harvesting honey.

Our Intro to Beekeeping class is designed for anyone in the Charlotte area who's curious about honeybees or has wondered what it would actually take to keep a hive of their own.

You'll also have an opportunity to learn directly from a professional Charlotte beekeeper, ask questions, and get a realistic look at what keeping honeybees in the Charlotte area is actually like.
